TRAINING OBJECTIVES

The Extended III (OSINT) Research Course teaches the components of the Foundation course and continues with detailed explanations and examples of advanced search techniques, so that the trainee will be taught how to locate people and connected organisations by researching Google and other search engines, before being taught the techniques required to perform effective research of the multitude of Social Media platforms, databases, websites, marketplaces, blogs, forums, gaming and gambling platforms that are available on-line.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

The trainee will have the capability to deploy, perform and report an online investigation by searching for people and connected entities with many different search engines, as well as the capability to effectively research the activity of people and entities on Social Media platforms and to locate people, entities and relevant intelligence and material from a multitude of databases, websites, marketplaces, blogs, forums, gaming and gambling platforms, that are available on-line.

For closed groups where only delegates assigned by the client organisation can attend.
The maximum quantity of trainees for a private training is 12.
Where you might have less than 8 trainees, your delegates can attend an open training for the Public Sector.
The private training, is a blend of printed document III (OSINT) material delivered to each trainee by e-mail and Classroom Training.
For each module, the trainee should have 1 to 2 hours of study time, to read the material and perform the exercises, preferably before the Classroom Training.

Public Sector CPD Credits: 52

The maximum quantity of trainees for a private training is 12.
Where you might have less than 8 trainees, they can attend an open training.

The price is £5,495 + VAT

Trainer travel and accommodation are extra and applied at cost.

For a training event outside the UK, travel days are £800

The trainer is a highly experienced, ex-law enforcement officer.

The trainer provides explanations and where appropriate, live demonstrations, so that all delegates are sure they understand the subject matter of the current module.

At the end of the Training, there is an option for each trainee to take final exam and receive a certificate
The final exam is online. Time can be taken to study the printed material before taking the exam.
Each delegate can select their exam date, up to 30 days after the end of the training.
The exam has about 35 multiple choice questions.
Time allowed: 70 minutes.
The candidate will require access to the internet to perfrom live investigations.
Where the 70% pass mark is acheived, CPD credits are awarded.
Otherwise, a Certificate of Attendance is issued with no CPD credits.

Axeten constantly updates the training material, so that even the most experienced of researchers might benefit from new information that might include:-

  • legal matters and guidelines
  • new resources
  • new techniques that might compensate for other techniques that are no longer available

Within 12 months of the end of the course, each trainee may request a follow-up online training, for up to 5 of the Extended course modules.

Although Module 1 is mandatory, a trainee taking a follow-up is not required to take module 1 again.

A trainee who has taken a classroom training is eligible for an online training follow-up.

An online follow-up training is free of charge.

Scope: A comprehensive and extensive training course, covering many matters relating to III (OSINT).

Audience: A Training for Law Enforcement, and wider Public Authorities with an investigation mandate.

Jurisdiction: The Legislation and Policy module relates primarily to the UK. Otherwise, the principles taught relate to any jurisdiction. Axeten is developing Legal and Policy modules for other jurisdictions.

Provisioning: PDF files and classroom training.

Format: Theory and information, with examples, followed by online practical tasks for most modules.

Duration: 3 Days

Technical Requirements: No specialist equipment is required, just a standard desktop or laptop computer with a good Internet connection and a Firefox Browser.

Data Protection: Each organisation and all its trainees, that take the training are responsible for protecting the data that might be processed during the training. Do not leak data to corporate interests. To do this, avoid use of the Chrome or Edge Browsers.

Copyright: Each recipient of the training is obliged to protect the course material. There is no right to distribute the material to anyone else. This includes people inside your organisation.

Security: Each recipient of the training, and any purchasing organisation,  is obliged to ensure that all computers and devices used during the course, are not compromised, so the material is not distributed unintentionally.

Module exams: These are recommended but optional and can be taken by the delegate at the end of each day.

Examination Availability: Each trainee has the option to take a final exam.

Examination Pass Mark: The pass mark for CPD accreditation is 70%. Trainees can retake the final exam.

Certification: All trainees that pass the final exam receive a certificate with the assigned CPD Credits for the course taken. On request, the score attained shall display on the certificate. Certificates of Attendance, with no accreditation, are available.
