Open Source Intelligence Unmanaged Distance Learning Course (DLC) for Public Authority Investigators.
This is the Blended Advanced Course covering all 18 modules.
Comprehensive OSINT Training for any aspiring OSINT practitioner in Law Enforcement or a wider Public Authority
With an Unmanaged DLC, the trainee chooses the start date of their training.
The end date will be 9 months later.
There is no option to select specific modules.
Only the whole course can be taken.
There is no possibility to take weekly tests or module tests.
The only assessment is a Final Exam that must be taken within the 9 months that the course is open.
The Unmanaged DLC provides access to a folder on the Axeten Cloud with sub-folders for each of the 18 blended modules.
In each module sub-folder, there is the reading material in PDF and a recording from a recent Live Online Training for that module.
The advanced course introduces the trainee to all aspects of investigating online resources to locate intelligence and material. The Foundation component teaches the structure and legality of the process and explains how to stay safe while being effective.
The investigative techniques taught include advanced searching of Google and other search engines, the special techniques required to locate and effectively research the multitude of social media platforms and hundreds of online databases, websites, images, e-mails and other messaging applications and other online resources such as marketplaces, blogs, forums, archives, gaming and gambling platforms, and technical assets that include but are not limited to domains, networks and the dark web.
The trainee will acquire the capability to safely deploy an investigation, in compliance with the legislation and how to locate and connect people and organisations through their online activity, even where an entity might have no intended on-line presence. The trainee will have the capability to safely gather intelligence and material, grade the evidence and compose a report with all of the attributes required for safe and effective litigation and where required, with graphic presentations of the evidence.
Trainees start the Unmanaged DLC, at their discretion.
There are 18 modules.
The trainee is provided with access to a dedicated folder on the Axeten cloud server with all of the training material.
There is no option to take weekly tests.
The Final Exam must be taken within 9 months of the delivery date of the III (OSINT) Unmanaged Distance Learning Course material.
Upgrades can be requested at any time within 38 weeks of the delivery of the training material.
Trainees can upgrade from an Unmanaged DLC to a Managed DLC or to a BOOT-U-A
Trainees might find that they struggle to complete the DLC and never feel confident about taking the final exam.
Because Axeten BOOT courses start regularly, it's easy to upgrade and benefit from Live Online Training (LOT).
Upgrade from a Unmanaged DLC to a Blended Online OSINT Training (BOOT) with a Live Online Training (LOT) for £320 + VAT per trainee.
No problem, but there is a fee of £400. Send us an e-mail to request the switch in DLC format.
You will join a managed DLC that is aligned with the current, or the next Advanced BOOT.
You choose between the current or the next Advanced BOOT for your relevant sector, public or private.
At the end of the training term, there is an option for each trainee to take final exam and receive a certificate
The final exam is online.
Each delegate can select their exam date within the 9 month term of the training.
The exam has about 60 multiple choice questions.
Time allowed: 120 minutes.
The candidate will require access to the internet to process live investigations.
Where the 70% pass mark is achieved, CPD credits are awarded.
Otherwise, a Certificate of Achievement is issued only for modules that are assessed by Axeten to have been passed as an outcome of the Final Exam.
CPD credits will be issued for only those modules.
There is no opportunity for pro-active oversight of an unmanaged DLC as there are no weekly tests.
