OSINT Module Assessment

THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN MODULE TESTS & WEEKLY TESTS

At the moment, the purpose of the module tests for the online & classroom courses differ from the weekly tests for the blended courses.

ONLINE & CLASSROOM MODULE TESTS

All assessment is online with multiple choice questions.

At the end of each module, the trainee can take a Module Test.
Where all Module Tests are passed with a score of 70% or more
there is no need to take the Final Exam.

If a pass mark to not achieved on any Module Test, the trainee can take the Final Exam.
At the beginning or during the course, the trainee can decide to use the Module Tests only for practice
with the intention of taking the Final Exam at the end of the course.

The Final Exam should be taken within 1 calendar month from the end of the last module.
The Final Exam is activated on the request of the trainee and it has to be taken in one sitting within 7 days of activation.

Module Tests have only 3 or 5 questions and 30 minutes are permitted to complete the test.
The Final Exam has about 10 questions and the time allowed is 60 minutes.

Where the course is passed, a Certificate of Achievement is awarded with CPD credits.
The trainee can elect to have the average Module Test score or the Final Exam score display on the certificate.

Where the course is failed, but the trainee has attended all of the Live Online Training events, a Certificate of Attendance is awarded.

BLENDED COURSES WEEKLY TESTS

On the Blended courses, the weekly tests are optional but recommended.

The format of the weekly tests is the same as the final exam. By taking the weekly tests, the practitioner prepares for the final exam.

For the online training, each weekly test is available from the end of the Live Online Training until the following weekly test is made available.

Delegates taking the classroom course tend to use the 'weekly' tests as 'module' tests during the revision and preparation for the final exam.

The Managed DLC provides weekly tests that comply with the online training format.

The Unmanaged DLC has no weekly tests.

Weekly tests are delivered online.

Each test has 5, 10 or even 15 questions, depending on the module.
The answer to each question is selected from a multiple choice, to allow for instant marking.

The weekly tests do not have a pass-mark, but 70% is a good indication of minimum performance.

The weekly tests allow the trainer to assess the progress of each trainee and to provide 1-1 assistance if indicated.

The assistance is free and usually has two steps:-

1. Multiple choice exam techniques.
2. Understanding an OSINT question and how to determine the correct answer.

ASSESSMENT OVERSIGHT

A client organisation might require their delegates to take the weekly tests.
The client organisation can have oversight and set conditions, that might include:-

  • review of the test scores for all of their employees.
  • a required a pass-mark, before proceeding to the next module.
  • test fail and re-test

At the end of a course, there is an option to take a final exam and to receive a certificate.
