SET UP & DEPLOYMENT OF A MOBILE PROXY

HOW TO SET-UP & DEPLOY A MOBILE PROXY FOR OSINT PROCESSING

To deploy Mobile Proxy connections, it is similar to a VPN service. The service has to be procured. As with VPN services, there is a selection of available vendors. Just like VPNs, some are better than others.

After the service has been procured, several connections, maybe in different jurisdictions, will be provided.

A Mobile Proxy credential should contain:
Host
Port
Username
Password

Usually this is provided in a string of data, such as:

proxy.example.com:80800:johndoeproxy:srUC5X7gJ1fwJrdD

Each dataset should be separated by a colon with no spaces.

The credentials can be applied to the operating system or to a router, but for ease of use, a browser extension can be deployed. One word of warning; where a browser extension is deployed, only connections made with the browser will be accessing the Mobile Proxy.

If you are processing from the Command Line with a Terminal client, be sure to apply the Mobile Proxy to the Operating System. However, there is a way to access the Command Line from a browser.
Axeten Module 17 Command Line Processing, will teach you how to do this.

There are several Mobile Proxy browser extensions that can be deployed. Credentials from any Mobile Proxy vendor will work in any Mobile Proxy extension. Some of the browser extension providers are also Mobile Proxy vendors.

The set-up process will be demonstrated on our upcoming OSINT Foundation course, which is the first part of the Advanced OSINT course. Also, the process is demonstrated in Module 2 of the upcoming OSINT Refresher course. See below.
However, reply to this e-mail with a request for a demo, and we will provide a scheduled live demo free of charge. It will be really easy for you to follow the process and complete the set-up on your computer.

Top right of this page, there are links to a selection of Mobile Proxy extensions.

Some of these extension providers are also Mobile Proxy vendors. Our testing indicates that some vendors purport to provide Mobile Proxy connections, but many of the connections are regular Proxies hosted in a data-center. It is not always easy to distinguish between the two. You might believe the connection you have made is a Mobile Proxy but in fact, it is a regular proxy and is detected as a VPN connection.
