A 10 module Distance Learning Course (DLC) that trains beginners, returners, self taught and lapsed online investigators. The OSINT space changes rapidly, therefore this course is also for experienced practitioners who need to catch-up on the latest techniques and resources. Treat it as a Refresher Course. All trainees will become safe and proficient OSINT practitioners.

TRAINING OBJECTIVES OF THE DLC-X-P OSINT TRAINING
The OSINT Training teaches the investigative skills and techniques to process advanced searches with Google and other search engines, how to locate and process social media platforms, databases, websites, images, e-mails, messaging applications, blogs, forums, archives, marketplaces and a wide selection of community platforms, so that by the end of the course, the trainee shall have acquired the capability to be a proficient OSINT practitioner.
LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE DLC-X-P OSINT TRAINING
The practitioner will have acquired the capability safely deploy an investigation, in compliance with the legislation and will know how to locate and gather open source intelligence and material from multiple sources and to connect people and organisations through their online activity, even where an entity might have no intended on-line presence.

MODULES COVERED IN THE DLC-X-P OSINT TRAINING
MODULE 1 : LEGISLATION & OPERATIONAL SECURITY
Introduces the legislation and explains how it relates to OSINT and how policies, procedures & guidelines can be used to protect the process and the practitioner. The module explains operational security which includes non-attributable internet connections. with demonstrations, live and on-line. The Video Recording provides live online demonstrations.
MODULE 2 : ONLINE USERS & PROCESSING PERSONAS
Understanding online user accounts and the investigative opportunities they provide and the lawful creation and management of sustainable Processing Personas. The Video Recording provides live online demonstrations.
MODULE 3 : SEARCH ENGINES & ADVANCED SEARCHES
A selection of Search Engines and different types of Search Engine are explained and demonstrated, live on-line in the Video Recording, with the various search queries and techniques that can be deployed to optimise the results.
MODULE 4 : DIGITAL FILES & IMAGES
Explains the different types of digital files, including still and moving images; then demonstrates, live and on-line in the Video Recording, the techniques to locate and extract data and other intelligence from the material with trainee exercises to practice the techniques.
MODULE 5 : EMAILS, PHONE NUMBERS & MESSENGER APPS
Explaining with live demonstrations in the Video Recording, the techniques required to process various communication resources and their attributes, that include e-mail & telephony and messenger apps with the deployment of emulators for safe processing.
MODULE 6 : ONLINE DATABASES
Demonstrates live and in real-time in the Video Recording, the processing of online databases to locate information about people, the assets they own and the attributes they might possess, with exercises for the trainees to practice the demonstrated techniques.
MODULE 7 : BLOGS, FORUMS & ONLINE MARKETPLACES
Demonstrating live and online in the Video Recording, the processing of blogs, forums & similar platforms, with a focus on the deployment of OSINT techniques to identify people using these resources. Then moving on to the processing of internet marketplaces, the identification of users on these platforms and the published activity of those users with live on-line demonstrations in the Video Recording of the resources and techniques available to the OSINT practitioner.
MODULE 8 : SMP PART 1 - LINKEDIN, INSTAGRAM, X, THREADS & BLUESKY
Demonstrating live and online in the Video Recording, the OSINT capabilities of Social Media as an investigative resource & processing users and the content they publish on Instagram, Xcom, Linkedin, Threads and other social media platforms.
MODULE 9 : SMP PART 2 - TIKTOK, SNAPCHAT, YOUTUBE
Demonstrating in live and online in the Video Recording, the OSINT capabilities of Social Media as an investigative resource & processing users and the still and moving image (video) content they publish on TikTok, YouTube, Snapchat and other image sharing platforms.
MODULE 10 : SMP PART 3 - THE FACEBOOK DEEP DIVE
The single Facebook Module Training is the last module of the OSINT Practitioner Training. This provides time to discuss and demonstrate all of the OSINT processing opportunities provided by Facebook. The Video Recording provides live online demonstrations.
Anyone with good computer skills and internet awareness can take the DLC-X-P.
The trainee is provided with access to the Axeten Cloud where the Help Notes and Video Recordings are made available for download.
Trainees can start the DLC-X-P at any time for their choosing, or to coincide with an open LOT-X-P course.
Assessment, if required, is a lot easier when coinciding with a LOT-X-P course.

Trainees might find that they struggle to complete the DLC-X-P and never feel confident about taking the optional assessment.
Axeten LOT courses start 3 times each year. It is possible to upgrade and benefit from Live Online Training (LOT).
Upgrade from a DLC-X-P to a LOT-X-P with a Live Online Training (LOT) for £70 per trainee.

Dedicated assessment is not included in the DLC.
However, the trainee can be assessed by being added to the assessment process for a Live Online Training (LOT).
Three LOTs are provided each year with starts in mid January, April and October.
.All assessment is online with multiple choice questions.
At the end of each module, the trainee can take a Module Test.
Where all Module Tests are passed with a score of 70% or more
Module Tests have only 7 questions and 30 minutes are permitted to complete the test.
Where the course is passed, a Certificate of Achievement is awarded with CPD credits.
The trainee can elect to have the average Module Test score display on the certificate.
TRAINING MATERIAL MAINTENANCE
Before each LOT-X-P training, Axeten conducts a complete review of all of the training material.
Any significant update located during any review is applied to the training material.
All review and update activity is recorded and signed off by a director.

Technical Requirements: No specialist equipment is required, just a standard desktop or laptop computer with a good Internet connection and a safe browser, such as the Brave Browser.
Data Protection: Each organisation and all its trainees, that take the training are responsible for protecting the data that might be processed during the training. Do not leak data to corporate interests. To do this, avoid the use of the Chrome or Edge Browsers. The Brave browser is preferred.
Copyright: Each recipient of the training is obliged to protect any digital asset provided by Axeten. There is no right to distribute the material to anyone else. This includes people inside your organisation.
Security: Each recipient of the training, and any purchasing organisation, is obliged to ensure that all computers and devices used during the course, are not compromised, so the material is not distributed unintentionally.
